08 Dec Safety first in Stockholm
The Port Authority of Stockholm keeps investing in safety and efficiency in its ports.
Part of this investment is increasing safety and efficiency during the mooring operations of cruise and ferry vessels. Therefore a few years ago, the port of Stockholm made a decision to install Mampaey Quick Release Mooring Systems on all their new ferry and cruise vessel projects.
Example of these installations at the Port of Stockholm area the Ferry and Cruise terminals at Värtan, Kapellskär, Frihamnen, Nynäshamn and Stadsgården. In addition to the safety and efficiency for new projects, the port of Stockholm added flexibility and durability. Flexibility means that we can easily relocate the mooring facility. Durability means that this has little impact on the surrounding environment. For this purpose Mampaey Offshore Industries B.V. delivered four (4) Steel Mooring Buoys.

Mampaey Offshore Industries delivered three new Steel Mooring Buoys on 15th of April 2016. The three Steel Mooring Buoys with a diameter 6.5 meter are each integrated with four Quick Release Buoy Hooks of 125 tons working load. Mampaey also delivered two double Quick Release Mooring Hooks units with capstans with a safe working load of 150 tons. These are installed on shore.
