Mooring at the FLNG facility Satu

In 2017 Mampaey offshore Industries supplied several units for LNG Giants, including the Petronas FLNG facility Satu. Last month, the FLNG Satu moved to its second location: the Kebabangan cluster field, 90 kilometers offshore Sabah, Malaysia. First gas was pumped into the PFLNG Satu’s turret system via a 5-km flexible pipeline on May 4.

This was followed by a series of start-up activities, which included the cooling down of natural gas until the production of the first LNG drop from the Kebabangan field on May 7.

Side-by-side and tandem mooring

To conduct side-by-side mooring procures, Mampaey Offshore Industries supplied eleven double hook Quick Release Mooring Units with integral capstan and a Safe Working Load of 175 ton. The units come with an Electrical Remote Control System and a Mooring Load Monitoring System.

For tandem mooring operations Mampaey supplied the Quick Release Offshore hook with a Hydraulic Remote Control System and Mooring Load Monitoring System.
