Second order for the largest iron ore terminal in Brazil

In 2016 Mampaey Offshore Industries supplied seventeen Quick Release Mooring Hook Units for the North Berth of the Ponta da Madeira Maritime Terminal in São Luís, Brazil. The Ponta de Madeira Maritime Terminal is the largest iron ore terminal in Brazil in terms of cargo volume and is owned by Vale, the largest producer of iron ore and nickel in the world.

South Berth

Originally the units placed on the South Berth were not made by us. These units quickly damaged and were not functioning properly; therefore, the units needed to be replaced. We received the order to supply the replacement units for the South Berth, because the client was satisfied with the Quick Release Mooring Hooks we supplied in 2016 for the North Berth. Now, the entire Berth IV is outfitted with Mampaey Offshore Industries mooring equipment,

A total of seventeen sets of Quick Release Mooring Hook Units were supplied for the South Berth: all are quadruple units with a Safe Working Load of 150 tons per hook and are equipped with the Electric Remote Control System and Mooring Load Monitoring System for added safety.

We received this fantastic overview video of the South Berth of the Terminal, showcasing our units beautifully.
