Steel Mooring Buoy for Stigsnaes Oil Terminal

Inter Terminals in Denmark operates four deep draft coastal storage terminals, Asnaes, Ensted, Stigsnaes and Gulfhavn. These provide build-bulk, break-bulk and custom blending services for distillates and heated oil products. The facilities provide deep water loading and unloading access to large shipping vessels including VLCC tankers.

Located in the Danish Straits, the Stigsneas Oil Terminal’s 7 mild steel tanks have a combined storage capacity of 406,000m³ and are temperature controlled for the safe storage of fuel oil and vacuum gas oil.

Steel Mooring Buoy

The jetty of the terminal needed to be extended to accommodate larger vessels. Due to costs and flexibility (a buoy can be relocated) Mampaey Offshore Industries supplied one Steel Mooring Buoy with a diameter of 6,5 meters. The buoy is completed with one Single Hook Quick Release Mooring Unit, a fairlead, railing, fender system, navigation aids, zinc anodes and Chain connection. The Mampaey buoy is built from robust high-quality steel according to the last standards and welded to international standards.

The mooring stability is furthermore reinforced by the direct connection of the anchor chain to the mooring unit under a special angle to avoid submersing / reclining as much as possible

Remote Control System

In agreement with the client is decided to use a smartphone as the Remote Control System to be able to remotely release the mooring lines. In addition to this all data concerning the solar panels, such as the battery and loading status can be monitored using the same smartphone. Also, the worklight can be monitored using the smartphone.
